I run a food and beverage venue, what NHS Test and Trace regulations do I need to follow?

You belong to the hospitality industry if you operate a food and beverage venue. As such, your venue must comply with NHS Test and Trace measures.

All applicable venues, mentioned here, must

· ask at least one member of every party of customers or visitors (up to 6 people) to provide their name and contact details

· keep a record of all staff working on their premises and shift times on a given day and their contact details

· keep these records of customers, visitors and staff for 21 days and provide data to NHS Test and Trace if requested

· display an official NHS QR code poster so that customers and visitors can ‘check in’ using this option as an alternative to providing their contact details

· adhere to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

Going one step further, venues operating in the hospitality industry must refuse entry to individuals that do not comply with the above measures.

Due to the NHS COVID-19 app being optional, the NHS QR code poster is only meant for patrons that agree to use the app. As a result, your venue will still need to collect contact information outside of the app to allow entry for patrons that have not adopted the app yet.

That is where our TENNER Venue Check-in App comes in handy. With our app, your venue can access an automated check-in system to cater towards visitors not using the NHS COVID-19 app. For only a tenner (as the name implies), you can collect all necessary contact information, check-in customers, visitors and staff, and retain this information for 21 days to provide to NHS Test and Trace if required. Thus, your hospitality venue will be compliant with all NHS Test and Trace measures without having to manually record contact information and keep track of it yourself.
